Evaluating Participatory Video as a Tool for Digital Learning

Bereich: Arbeit & Chancengleichheit

A paper co-written by Katharina Koller and Martina Lindorfer (ZSI) and Climatubers project partner Endurae was accepted and just presented at the 8th conference on Smart Learning Ecosystems and Regional Development. Drawing from the overall Climatubers project experience, the paper, titled “A Case Study of Participatory Video as Teaching Digital Storytelling against Climate-driven Inequalities” discusses opportunities and limitations of PV for underprivileged groups in Europe concerning Climate Action inequalities.

More specifically, it discussed the method of participatory video (PV) and its implementation in the Climatubers project. The contribution presented a case study of whether the benefits of PV can be applied in this setting as well as presenting lessons learned from the execution of the project in 5 European countries. Tne results show that the method carries its opportunities and limitations as seen in international development projects. The results can be used as guiding principles for practitioners in the field of PV but are also important for policy-makers who may want to understand how and when to support and lead local PV climate-related initiatives.

The paper is published by Springer in the Series Advances in Sustainability Science and Technology. Please cite the contribution as:
