The University of Novi Sad (UNS) was founded in 1960. UNS is the second largest university in Serbia with around 5000 employees and 50000 students. It is the only state university in the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, comprising 14 faculties and 3 research & developmental institutes. There are 300 study programmes at all three academic cycles. It is a comprehensive university covering all major fields of study and research.
University of Novi Sad is active in the international collaboration field participating in both educational and research projects (ERASMUS+, HORIZON 2020, FP7, EUREKA, COST, IPA, etc.). Considering the number of EU-funded projects in which the University has participated, UNS is a leader both in Serbia and the WBC region, where most projects focus on restructuring and reforming higher education processes, structures and programs in line with EU policies. It has been recognized as a reform-oriented university, intensively developing international cooperation with universities and other institutions in the area of higher education, with considerable experience in implementing academic mobility programs (Campus Europae, Erasmus Mundus Action 2, ERASMUS+ Key Action 1, etc.).
UNS has been awarded with a prestigious acknowledgement - the Logo of Excellence in the field of improving the work conditions of researchers, while the University is also a new headquarter of the Secretariat of the Consortium of Higher Education Institutions in the framework of the cooperation of the Republic of China and 16 countries of Central and East Europe. UNS has been finally awarded the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (2014-2020 – ECHE), and it also encompasses around 250 laboratories.
