Analysis of ERA-NET programs with third countries 2004-2010 and their perspectives

Analysis of the use of the European Unions ERA-NET scheme for international cooperation

The aim of the study was to analyse European research cooperation in the context of all current and new ERA-NET projects with third-country orientation, focusing on

  •      Participant structure (both geographical and organizational forms),
  •      content orientations and priorities,
  •      the pursued instrumental differentiation,
  •      budgetary implications (e.g., in terms of joint call settlements).

The findings were presented in a report. Furthermore, conclusions were drawn up on the strategic or political motivators (drivers) of EU projects which have been developed by the European Commission within the framework of the two ERA-NET schemes (FP6 and FP7) 2004-2009.
