SI plus - Competence Centre for Social Innovation
After two years of pilot work (2021-2023), SI plus - Competence Centre for Social Innovation is entering the next round. Over the next five years (2024-2028), the competence centre will continue to act as a focal contact point for social innovators in Austria within the framework of the European Social Fund (ESF+). It will support all those who want to contribute to the joint solution of social challenges. A special focus is also placed on projects that address labour market integration. The L&R Social Research Institute, arbeit plus, DIALOGPLUS, the Centre for Social Innovation (ZSI) and the Competence Centre for Nonprofit Organisations and Social Entrepreneurship at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) are joinlty working on the competence centre. The competence centre is financed by the European Social Fund (ESF+), which has been funding social innovation as a separate programme priority since 2021. SI plus offers space for networking, knowledge exchange and the co-creative development, testing and scaling of social innovations.
In this broad-based project, the ZSI team is leading work package 3 on analysing the potential and scaling of socially innovative projects in close cooperation with the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU). The focus here involves the questions of which organizational characteristics are conducive to the transfer and scaling of social innovations and what role the political level, the community and various stakeholders play.
