CO-PLAN INSTITUTI PER ZHVILLIMIN EHABIITATIT (CO PLAN), Institute for Habitat Development is a pioneering and leading knowhow non-profit organisation in the field of innovative city-making and territorial governance, with a long-standing experience in researching and assisting the implementation of sustainable, participatory development, informal settlements integration, preparation of urban plans, strategic, environmental assessments and disaster risk reduction strategies, territorial management, etc. Established in 1997, CO PLAN has built on four key expertise areas, namely: (1) Territorial Governance and Spatial Planning; (2) Decentralization and Local Regional Development; (3) Environmental Management and Planning; (4) Research and Policy Influencing. True to its name, CO PLAN remains committed to collaborative practices. CO PLAN has introduced participatory methods to territorial planning practices in Albania, while researching, devising and conducting community development projects, environmental and ecosystem strategies. In addition, over the years CO PLAN has been involved in strengthening civil society organisations as a cross-cutting approach.
