Rigas planning region

Acronym: RPR

In accordance with the functions defined in the Regional Development Law, the Riga Planning Region, within its competence, ensures planning and monitoring of the region's development. Priority activities of the Riga Planning Region in the framework of development planning:

•     elaboration, implementation and monitoring of regional development planning documents
•     participation in the elaboration of national planning documents and provision of opinions on draft national regulatory documents
•     assessing the compliance of the spatial plans of local self-governments in the region with the requirements of regulatory enactments
•     drawing up planning conditions and opinions on spatial plans and projects for local authorities in the region
•     maintaining a database of development planning documents
