HCERES hosts the Observatory of Science and Technologies (OST) responsible for strategic research and analysis.

Acronym: HCERES / OST

The High Council for the Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (HCERES) was created in 2013 (replacing and AERES which existed since 2006). Spurred on by its President, the HCERES is an independent administrative authority with the following missions: evaluating HEIs and groupings, research units, programmes and degrees offered by higher education institutions or, where applicable, overseeing the quality of evaluations carried out by other bodies. For carrying out its missions, HCERES has four evaluation departments (for institutions, territorial clusters, research units, programmes and degrees). It also includes an Observatory of Science and Technologies (OST) responsible for strategic research and analysis and European and International department in charge of international relations, conducting European projects and evaluations of foreign HEIs and programs upon request.
