The University of Applied Sciences Potsdam (FHP–Fachhochschule Potsdam) is a young, dynamic university founded in 1991, one year after German Reunification in the Federal State of Brandenburg. Today, 32 courses of study offered by the Faculties of Architecture and Urban Design, Civil Engineering, Design, Information Sciences, and Social and Educational Sciences provide a well-grounded university education with strong professional prospects. The interdisciplinary Institute for Urban Futures (IaF) was established in 2014 and addresses interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary issues of sustainable urban development and social innovations. The IaF provides a place for applied science studies dedicated to the complexity of urban processes, social dynamics and digital information systems.
