The Actíva Foundation (Sweden)

Activas role is to guide and support men and women who involuntarily lack access to the labour market, due to illness or disability. It works with Supported Employment as method.

Acronym: Actíva

The foundation is a non-profit organization and was established in 1989. The foundation has today (2019) a staff of 40 employees and about 350 participants deployed in various activities through out the year. The turnover is about 30 000 000 SKR a year. Our principals are Region Örebro county and Örebro municipality and we have the whole county as our field of our activity. Our role is to guide and support men and women who involuntarily lack access to the labour market, due to illness or disability. We work with Supported Employment as method. In order to continuously develop our business, we often work in collaborative projects. Our projects are focused on methods development, reaching new target groups and influencing attitudes towards people with disabilities in working life.The third sector Actíva are deeply engaged in collaboration with social enterprises as they can be a path for persons with fewer opportunities to get an employment as a part of an ongoing transition towards others employers. Activa are a co-owner in two small social enterprises where Childrens upptäckarhuset is the largest with about ten employees.
