The Austrian Latin American Institute or 'Österreichische Lateinamerika-Institut'(LAI) is the competence centre for Latin America in Austria. As an information, education and cultural centre, the LAI sees itself as a coordination platform for cooperation between Europe and Latin America and as a catalyst for intercultural and socio-political dialogues and processes. Its work focuses on language and cultural education, social policy, science and research.
