Acronym: AUCC

Since 1911, the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada has represented the interests of Canadian universities. As the national voice for Canadian universities, AUCC represents 95 public and private not-for-profit universities and university degree-level colleges. AUCC is a membership organization providing university presidents with a unified voice and a forum for collective action, and is based in Ottawa with a staff of 80 people.
The mission of AUCC is to foster and promote the interests of higher education and university research. We participate in the development of public policy to find solutions to the economic and social challenges facing Canada. We work closely with governments, the private sector and the public to raise the profile of higher education and research.
The focus of our international work is to support AUCC members’ international efforts and build the brand of excellence of Canadian higher education and research. Activities include exporting Canadian knowledge services, engaging in international research collaboration, attracting international students and researchers to Canadian campuses, and encouraging Canadian students to pursue international learning experiences.
AUCC supports its members by concentrating our efforts on actions that require collective action to ensure greater impact.
