(Senior) Researcher for transformative innovation and innovation policy

for 30-40 hours per week (negotiable), specialising on the role of innovation in processes of system change within the fields of climate change adaptation and circular economy.

We are looking for a dedicated researcher with a solid theoretical and methodological background for supporting us in our international research projects. In our projects we study and support socio-technical transformation processes that tackle complex societal challenges through new social and governance practices. We support our implementation partners in researching, initiating, innovating, orchestrating, and evaluating transformative innovation and policy approaches in the context of the Twin Transition. The results of our work contribute to evidence-based and future-oriented policymaking, which we aim to influence and develop through our research.

Tasks:

  • Participating in national and international research and innovation projects in the field of R&I policy, climate change adaptation, and circular economy
  • Developing of project ideas and collaboration in national and European project acquisition (Horizon Europe, Interreg, tenders, national funding schemes, etc.)
  • Presenting of project designs and results at national and international networks, workshops, and conferences.
  • Contributing and potentially leading project management.

Your Profile:

  • Master's degree in social sciences, economics, political science, or related disciplines, PhD is an advantage
  • Sound knowledge and relevant experience in qualitative and quantitative social research
  • Thematic competence and interest in national and international R&I policy, climate change adaptation, and/or circular economy
  • Interest and knowledge in monitoring, formative and summative evaluation, as well as (social) impact analysis
  • Experience in the conception, acquisition and/or realisation of (international) research projects
  • Experience with EU policy, funding programmes, and calls for proposals
  • Ability to work independently and accurately, but also social competence and team spirit
  • Excellent command of English, German is an advantage.
  • Be a national of a Member State of the European Union or hold a valid working permit

  • The gross salary ranges from € 3,550 (Research assistant) to € 4,097 (Senior Project Manager with minimum 5 years’ experience) for 40 hours/week (paid 14 times/y).   • The initial contract will be limited to one year and an extension to a permanent contract is possible
