Contributing to the future of schizophrenia research in the VOLABIOS project

Last week Gorazd Weiss and Carmen Siller attended the VOLABIOS consortium meeting in Aachen, meeting the people with whom ZSI is working together on early diagnosis of schizophrenia. These three days were filled with insightful scientific lectures, strategic discussions, and intense collaboration among all partners.

As Work Package Leaders, ZSI colleagues led a focused half-day train-the-trainer workshop aimed at supporting the representatives of the clinical sites with the implementation of a series of Social Labs engaging relevant stakeholders in their respective countries to discuss social implications of VOLABIOS research. Witnessing the collective expertise and collaborative spirit in the room was inspiring, as we work towards accelerating the impact of VOLABIOS project.

After a topical conference and a full day consortium meeting, the last day was dedicated to the interactive training. In three hours partners dived into a number of participatory excercises with role-play, input presentation, co-creation sessions and reflection on methods and target groups, arriving at a common understanding of the importance to involve stakeholders from across the quadruple helix of civic society, public sector, industry as well as research and academia.
