Descriptive statistics

Descriptive statistics facilitate describing basic features of data. They include measures of centrality like the mean, median, and mode, and measures of variability like the standard deviation, variance, or range. Together with simple graphics, they form the basis of every quantitative analysis.

Indicators can also be constructed from variables. ZSI offers expertise in the development of reliable indicators. Valid indicators help organisations and projects to measure the success of a particular activity. Accordingly, choosing the right indicators relies upon a good understanding of what is important to the organisation, programme, or project.
