With the introduction of the EU missions in Horizon Europe, mission-oriented innovation policy has taken the international research policy world by storm.
As a key fixture in the Austrian innovation system, the Annual Conference on Mission-Oriented Innovation Policy serves as a forum for exchange between research, application and policy, providing an opportunity to discuss progress in the national implementation of the EU missions as well as developments in the field. The event is organised on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Research, Science and Women’s Affairs.
Klaus Schuch, ZSI, as part of the Austrian Mission Facility – which supports policy learning on mission-oriented R&I policy in Austria and is responsible, amongst other things, for monitoring the implementation of the EU missions in Austria – delivered a keynote speech on the monitoring process. The ZSI also organised a breakout session on the implementation of the EU mission ‘Healthy Soils’. Finally, Klaus took part in the panel discussion on the future of mission-oriented research and innovation policy in Austria.
