From 2014 to 2023, she was a researcher at the Institute for Technology Assessment of the Austrian Academy of Sciences and worked on national and EU projects dealing with issues of public and stakeholder participation as well as policy advice in various contexts (new and emerging technologies, computational modeling, COVID-19). In 2021, she conducted research at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU), at the Institute of Synthetic Bioarchitectures.
Since 2023, Daniela has been working as a researcher and scientific project manager at the Center for Social Innovation (ZSI). Here she deals with issues of participation and stakeholder engagement, as well as social impacts related to various topics, including energy citizenship (EC2 – Horizon 2020, 2021-2024), revitalization of abandoned dwellings in rural areas (RurALL – Interreg Danube Region, 2024-2026), impact of data sharing (DATAMITE – HorizonEurope, 2023-2025), sustainability aspects of advanced materials in digital agricultural technologies (SAMA – NanoEHS, 2025) and innovative solutions related to water and the circular economy (Boost-In, HorizonEurope, 2024-2026).
She holds a Master’s degree in Human Ecology and a PhD in Science and Technology Studies from Maastricht University.
In addition to her project work, Daniela teaches at the Vienna University of Technology.
