27. Nov. 2020

On November 17th the ENTRANCES project joined a clustering workshop on Coal and Carbon regions in transition.

On November 17th, several partners of the ENTRANCES project (ENergy TRANsitions from Coal and carbon: Effects on Societies), funded under the EU Horizon 2020 program, participated in a clustering workshop of H2020 projects focused on Coal and Carbon regions in Transition. The workshop was organised by the European Commission (EC).

The topic Clean energy transition in coal regions lies at the heart of the ENTRANCES project and this workshop helped cooperation and coordination between projects with a similar focus. The event gathered several distinguished individuals, including Dirk Beckers (Director of INEA), Aleksandra Tomczak (Member of Cabinet of the Executive Vice President Frans Timmermans at the European Commission), and Peter Berkowitz (Head of Unit, DG REGIO – Smart and Sustainable Growth). The EC representatives explained the concept of Just Transition regions and the Just Transition Mechanism, including aspects of the Just Transition Fund implementation and the platform.
