Junior Researcher | Involved in the Cherries Project

Markus Otter studied Socioeconomics and Socio Ecological Economics at the University of Business and Economics Vienna. His research interests include:

  • Regional Sciences
  • Ecological Economics
  • Urbanism
  • Spatial Statistics and GIS

Throughout his studies he has done research on the regulations of new forms of work, spatial patterns of health care provision and regional competition, cooperation and innovation. He is interested in the intersections of economics, sustainability and society and the spatial aspect of sustainable development and innovation. His focus lies on data based spatial and social research.

2019: Internship at the main association of austrian social insurances (Hauptverband der österreichischen Sozialversicherungsträger) in the department of evidence based economic healthcare research, researching the spatial accessibility of primary care in Austria.

2015-2017: Tutor at the institute of Sociology and the empirical Social Sciences, University of Economics, Vienna
