Delegation of National Innovation Agency of Thailand welcomed at ZSI

Representatives of ZSI met with a delegation of the NIA from Thailand to intensify joint cooperation.

A delegation of the National Innovation Agency (NIA) of Thailand and representatives of the Thai embassy in Austria visited the Center for Social Innovation today.

Lead by Dr. Pun-Arj Chairatana, Executive Director of NIA, and Thitiporn Chirasawadi, Minister of the Royal Thai Embassy & Permanent Mission of Thailand to the United Nations in Vienna, the delegation was received at ZSI to discuss potential areas for cooperation between the two institutions. Gorazd Weiss (Head of Unit), together with colleagues Dietmar Lampert (senior researcher) and Wolfgang Haider (researcher) familiarised the delegation with the latest developments in the European Research Area and the role of ZSI in the international research and innovation landscape.

The delegation of the NIA and the Royal Embassy of Thailand in Vienna was welcomed at ZSI.

Building upon the long-lasting cooperation between ZSI and NIA, several areas were identified future cooperation will be intensified. In particular, cooperation should accelerate in the areas of Social Innovation, Social Impact Assessment, Foresight studies, and Science and Innovation Diplomacy. As a first milestone in this cooperation, ZSI was invited to actively participate in the National Innovation conference/expo in Thailand in October 2019.
