Open access book on the ETHNA System project results is OUT!

22. Mai 2023

ZSI researchers authored a chapter on RRI institutionalisation efforts in the ETHNA System open access book

Members of the ETHNA System consortium have published an Open Access book titled “Ethics and Responsible Research and Innovation in Practice” based on their practical experience with the RRI governance framework elaborated in the ETHNA System project, as well as the conceptualisation, the characteristics and application of RRI tools. It is part of the book series Lecture Notes in Computer Science edited by Elsa González-Esteban and Ramón A. Feenstra at the Universitat Jaume I, and Luis M. Camarinha-Matos at NOVA School of Science and Technology.

Together with project partners from the Danish Board of Technology and Applied Research and Communications Fund, ZSI researchers Dietmar Lampert and Gábor Szüdi were the main authors of the chapter titled "Evaluation of RRI Institutionalisation Endeavours: Specificities, Drivers, Barriers, and Good Practices Based on a Multi-stakeholder Consultation and Living Lab Experiences" providing RPOs and RFOs with practical advice on how to engage in an effective RRI institutionalisation based on the results of the multi-stakeholder consultation process undertaken in the ETHNA System project.

A broad set of drivers, barriers and good practices identified at the multi-stakeholder consultation process was divided into structural, cultural and interchange-related aspects that can potentially influence RRI institutionalisation. The validity of these aspects were tested in the ETHNA System Living Labs, which enabled the authors to identify and categorize key factors, as well as to describe specific organisational circumstances conducive to a successful adoption and use of RRI principles and practices in RPOs and RFOs.

The whole book is available here.
