Judith Feichtinger has expertise in environmental governance, policy integration, and stakeholder participation. Her research has focused on key environmental topics including bioeconomy, energy transition, climate change and adaptation, water policy, and the implementation of Local Agenda 21. She holds a PhD (Dr.rer.soc.oec.) from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU), obtained within the framework of the Doctoral School for Sustainable Development (2007–2010). From 2010 to 2016, she continued her academic career as a university assistant at BOKU’s Institute of Forest, Environmental and Natural Resource Policy.
Since 2016, Judith has been a senior researcher and project manager at the Centre for Social Innovation (ZSI), where she has contributed to a range of EU-funded projects, some of which she coordinated. These include Engage4BIO (2022–2025), Transition2BIO (2021–2022), and BLOOM (2017–2020), all focused on raising awareness of the bioeconomy and supporting the development of regional bio-based value chains. She is currently involved in Boost-In (2024–2026), a communication and support action aimed at boosting the uptake of innovative solutions in the context of water and the circular economy. Judith was part of the coordination team for the EC2 project (2021–2024), a Horizon 2020 research and innovation action promoting energy citizenship and energy communities for a clean energy transition. She also contributed to GOAL (2016–2019), a project funded by Austria’s Climate and Energy Fund (ACRP), which focused on climate change mitigation and adaptation.
Alongside her project work, Judith continues to teach students enrolled in the Environmental and Bio-Resource Management programme at BOKU.
