Social integration of migrants can be conceived as a process evolving over time and comprising structural as well as actor-oriented aspects. By means of method triangulation, this project aimed to analyse how migrants react to (changing) conditions that shape their opportunity structure and how they assess their individual degree of integration. The guiding questions were:
How do past and current policies shape the individual life-courses of migrants? Which are the apparent shortcomings and what kind of recommendations can be made for the development of guiding principles dealing with social integration of migrants?
