The ZSI is a recognised non-university social science institution. We conduct research and practice projects on the social embedding and impact of technical-economic as well as social innovations and thus aim to contribute to the design and dissemination of socially accepted and sustainable innovations to address social and global challenges. We want to strengthen our profile in the field of “Research and Innovation Policy” with an expert who has very good knowledge of Austrian and European R&I practices. In addition, the applicant has already gained first relevant experience in applied social or economic research and has very good methodological competence, which he/she can apply to research and evaluation projects.
Work area:
- Project lead and collaboration in national and international research and innovation projects in the field of R&I policy (including evaluation).
- Conducting qualitative and quantitative research on national and international issues related to the design, implementation and evaluation of research policy, innovation and economic and societal transformation in the context of the European Green Deal
- Cooperation, communication and consultation with national and international project partners and clients in an interdisciplinary environment
- Development of project proposals and cooperation in project acquisition
Requirements:
- At least a Master’s degree
- At least 5 years of experience in research
- Excellent command of German and English,
- Ability to write project reports and scientific papers
- Robust application of empirical social science methods
- Ability to work independently and accurately
- Commitment, integrity, interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team
- Customer orientation, commitment, accuracy and reliability

Start of work: as soon as possible; initially limited to 1 year; thereafter an unlimited extension is possible.
Working hours: full-time or part-time (at least 20 hours per week).
Minimum gross salary: Minimum gross salary: € 3,837.07 gross at 40h/week with at least five creditable years of professional experience and takeover of project lead; additional payment possible based on actual classification according to creditable previous professional experience in accordance with the ZSI salary scheme.
