On 6-7 August 2026, ZSI researcher Inese Gavarane participated in the 5th Forum of Latvian Professionals Working in International Organisations in Riga, Latvia.
Organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia in cooperation with the Chancery of the President of Latvia, the State Chancellery and the association Economic Cooperation and Investments for Latvia (#esiLV), the Forum brought together Latvian professionals working in international governmental and non-governmental organisations. Its aim was to strengthen cooperation and knowledge exchange, build closer links between internationally active Latvian professionals and the national public administration, and encourage dialogue across different policy areas.
This year’s discussions focused on democratic values, societal resilience, information-space security and ways of bringing international professional knowledge and experience back to Latvia. The programme included sessions on democratic values in times of global challenges, current security risks and the added value of international experience for professional work in Latvia.
