Our interactive 90-minute session, titled “Making Mental Health Science Matter: Engaging Through Living Labs and Real Data,” is part of Track 1: Living Labs for Grand Societal Challenges. The workshop addresses the challenge of communicating complex mental health science – such as biomarkers and multi-omics data – to a wide range of audiences, including those with limited scientific literacy.
Participants will work in small groups using real-world case studies from VOLABIOS to co-create inclusive communication formats tailored to specific audiences like young people, older adults, or policymakers. The session blends participatory design, group work, and reflection to explore how Living Labs can bridge the gap between research and society.
The workshop will provide practical tools and new approaches for researchers, Living Lab practitioners, and decision-makers who are working to make science more inclusive, relatable, and impactful.
