New Science Diplomacy Hub connects researchers, diplomats, and policymakers across Europe and beyond

Vienna, Austria | 7 October 2026 – CUSP (Consolidating European Science Diplomacy), an
EU-funded initiative bringing together 11 partner organisations across Europe, has launched
the Science Diplomacy Hub, a new platform designed to connect, inform, and mobilise the
science diplomacy community.

The Hub is an impartial space for dialogue, co-creation, and on-demand policy advice,
offering seamless interaction with peers, practitioners, and researchers from across Europe
and beyond. It will serve as the calendar and repository for science diplomacy-related
activities and resources, allowing users to discover content and materials from the field and
browse and register for events across the world, opening the door to new networking
opportunities.

Users will be able to:
• Interact with peers, practitioners, and researchers from across Europe and beyond
• Share and discover documents, resources, and knowledge
• Stay up-to-date about events, funding calls, and collaborations
• Join thematic Working Groups to shape the future of the field.

“The Hub turns the CUSP mission – uniting Europe’s Science Diplomacy Community – into
something very practical. It provides researchers, diplomats, and policymakers with a
dedicated space to connect with each other on the topic of science diplomacy and share
knowledge and updates in a structured way. We encourage anyone working in or around
science diplomacy to register and be part of the community.” – Charlotte Rungius, Science
Diplomacy Hub’s Coordinator.

Working Groups launching in October

Starting in October, the Hub will open applications for 10 thematic Working Groups (WGs),
each led by a CUSP partner organisation and covering a distinct dimension of the field:

• WG01: Science Diplomacy for Geopolitical Challenges and Responsible International
Cooperation
• WG02: Science Diplomacy (and Science Advice) for the Global Commons
• WG03: Innovation and Tech Diplomacy
• WG04: The Evolving Role of Science Attachés and Scientists in Embassies

• WG06: Cultural and Arts-based Science Diplomacy
• WG07: Science Diplomacy and Large Research Infrastructures
• WG08: One Health and Science Diplomacy
