Job vacancy project team member communications (limited contract)

This vacancy offers a limited contract (until December 2017) supporting administration and communication in several projects aiming at fostering cooperation in science, technology and innovation (STI) of Europe worldwide, with special focus on Latin America and Africa. This position supports the finalisation of the ALCUE NET project on the one hand and two projects targeting STI cooperation with Africa on the other (CAAST-Net Plus and ESASTAP2020) as well as potentially other project related communication and dissemination management activities.

Place of employment: Vienna (1150)
Extent: 30 hours per week
Vacancy duration: from the earliest possible date until December 2017

Tasks

  • Comprehensive project related media relations / media activities.
  • Cooperation and coordination with website programmers (in-house at ZSI).
  • Feeding and maintenance of project website content via our CMS.
  • After training: research, selection and processing of adequate news for social media campaigning.
  • Documentation of the communication activities and support with gathering and analysing website and social media statistics.
  • Support with reporting, creation of presentations and other communication material for dissemination.
  • Support with the coordination of a book publication.
  • Management of mailing lists and stakeholder contact lists.

 

Requirements

  • University degree in a related field (BA minimum).
  • Proven expertise in PR and media work (print, on-line and multi-media).
  • Experience in the work with content management systems and professional use of social media.
  • Proficient use of MS-Office.
  • Proficiency in English (C2; on academic and journalistic level). German and English as working languages. French, Spanish or Portuguese of advantage.
  • Design skills; basic knowledge in graphic processing and the usage of common graphics software .
  • Exactness, diligence, reliability, resilience and service-oriented efficiency.
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn.
  • High interest or work experience in Latin America or Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • High interest in international research cooperation.
  • MOOC development of advantage.
