Increasing collaboration between Europe and Brazil – INCOBRA

ZSI is a partner of the EU funded project INCOBRA and recently participated in a kick-off meeting in Oporto, Portugal.

The overall objective of INCOBRA is to focus on, increase, and enhance Research & Innovation Cooperation Activities between Brazil and European Union, so that both regions may benefit from the mutual cooperation.

INCOBRA gathers a total of 13 organisations from Europe (8) and Brazil (7), all with a strong focus on the science and innovation stakeholders. During the 3 year course of the project’s implementation, it will: identify main trends; help with coordination of funding opportunities; facilitate matchmaking of companies and institutions; and finally support the alignment of EU-BR policy agendas.

ZSI is mainly responsible for the monitoring analysis of the cooperation patterns applied to BR and EU R&I actors and for the definition and deployment of a web-based information system.

Within the framework of the INCOBRA meeting, on the 18th March an opening event on ‘Opportunities and challenges for investment and funding’ was held at the University of Porto. The conference gathered different Brazilian and European stakeholders, where the speakers presented the landscape of funding schemes in Brazil and Europe.
