The work resulted in two closely connected project outputs: the Joint Implementation Framework (D3.1.1) and the Cooperation-based Pilot Designs (D3.1.2). The first was authored by ZSI and established the common methodological basis for the pilots; the second was led by ZSI and brought together six locally adapted pilot designs developed collaboratively with project partners and stakeholders.
From initial ideas to detailed pilot designs
ZSI also designed and guided the process through which the six pilot concepts were further developed. This included early concept work, transnational co-creation, a common pilot design template, three pilot clinics, peer review, stakeholder validation and final methodological quality assurance.
A central step was the co-creation process in Vienna, where pilot partners worked on their country-specific concepts while also receiving input from other project partners and Associated Strategic Partners. The process was designed to combine local relevance with a shared transnational perspective.
Following the workshop, ZSI translated the emerging methodology into a detailed pilot design template covering the problem and underlying needs, target groups, objectives, theory of change, activities, cooperation structures, outreach, barriers to participation, risks, sustainability and implementation planning.
The resulting six pilot designs reflect different local priorities and cooperation models while remaining connected through a common methodological approach. This makes it possible to compare experiences across countries and to generate learning for later evaluation, transfer and strategy development.
The pilots have since moved into implementation, where the approaches developed through this process are now being tested in practice.
