Call open: Join the CUSP thematic Working Groups on Science iplomacy
Applications are open until 11 November 2026
The CUSP (Consolidating European Science Diplomacy) project has opened its call for expressions of interest to join its 10 thematic Working Groups (WGs). The call invites researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and other professionals working at the intersection of science, technology, policy, and international relations to apply.
Each WG will bring together 20–30 members of the European science diplomacy community. Together, the WGs will serve as the project’s primary collaborative mechanism for developing recommendations, exchanging expertise, and fostering cooperation aligned with the priorities of the European Framework for Science Diplomacy.
The WGs are dedicated spaces to exchange with professionals who share similar interests, challenges, and questions. Members will learn from different perspectives and good practices, expand their professional networks, and help turn their exchanges into concrete outputs for the wider science diplomacy community.
The 10 WGs are:
WG01: Science Diplomacy for Geopolitical Challenges and Responsible International Cooperation
WG02: Science Diplomacy (and Science Advice) for the Global Commons
WG03: Innovation and Tech Diplomacy
WG04: Science Diplomacy in Government: Roles, Responsibilities and Coordination
WG05: Science Diplomacy, Alumni Networks, Refugee Researchers and Diaspora Engagement
WG06: Cultural and Arts-based Science Diplomacy
WG07: Science Diplomacy and Large Research Infrastructures
WG08: One Health and Science Diplomacy
WG09: Impact Assessment of Science Diplomacy Actions
WG10: Multilingualism and Communicating Science Diplomacy to the Public
Applications are welcome from individuals with relevant expertise at any career stage, and from all professional backgrounds, disciplines, sectors, countries, and regions. These include universities and research organisations, governments and public administrations, foreign ministries and diplomatic services, European and international organisations, research funding bodies, civil society organisations, science academies and professional associations, the private sector, and science diplomacy networks.
