Science, technology and innovation policy refers to the principles, decisions and measures that influence the development, dissemination and application of scientific and technological knowledge. ZSI analyses research and innovation policies, measures and instruments, regulatory frameworks and supports their further development, for example through the evaluation of policies and programmes, the analysis of innovation systems and new paradigms such as “Open Science” or “RRI”. ZSI researchers contribute to academic discourse and the practical implementation of new approaches and work on approaches that promote sustainable and integrative socio-technical innovations that are in line with social needs and expectations.
