With that, SI-Mission-Facility aims to open a dialogue on how to better connect R&I ecosystems, (social) policy actors, funders, investors and civil society to enhance mission-oriented policy-delivery through social innovation. Selected speakers will present the five EU Missions, the way how these missions are implemented in Austria, and how social innovations are enabled in Austria and across the EU by the Austrian Competence Centre for SI. An open fishbowl discussion will conclude the thematic part of this event.
Over a period of four years (May 1, 2025 – April 30, 2029), the consortium will not only engage successful examples of social innovations in Europe in promotion and networking, but also develop targeted accompanying measures to support scaling and impact. The aim is to unleash the full potential of social innovation to achieve some of the most important goals of the EU research and innovation funding program (e.g. fighting cancer, clean water, climate-neutral cities, climate change adaptation, healthy soils). To this end, a new investor network will be established and a targeted training program for social entrepreneurs and start-ups will be developed.
