Work and Equal Opportunities

Interkulturellen Öffnung der Region Obersteiermark

The Labour Market and Employment Situation of Immigrants in the Region

Intercultural Opening encompasses a concept of integration as a mutual process rather than a one-sided adaptation by immigrants.
In this context CSI is conducting a study to discover,

* the determinants of the occupational integration of immigrants in the region,
* the actual occupational and education experiences and careers and language skills of immigrants,
* the current occupations and working conditions of immigrants,
* the obstacles to an optimal use of any occupational training immigrants have received,
* the extent to which immigrants make use of social resources and public infrastructure in order to improve their position.

Together with the other partners a planning document for adequate measures to achieve a better matching of existing skills with occupations were developed.
