22. Apr. 2021

Building capacities for communication, dissemination and exploitation in H2020 and Horizon Europe

BIONANOSENS is a Horizon 2020 funded Twinning action to support the scientific excellence and public visibility of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (IMBG). ZSI leads the work packages on innovation management/capacity building and communication, dissemination and exploitation (CDE).

After having initiated the creation of a new innovation management unit at IMBG, ZSI now follows up with delivering tailor-made virtual trainings for the unit's staff in view of building long-term local capacities in the areas of proposal writing, project management, innovation management, and communication, dissemination, exploitation.

On April 15, the second virtual training on the topic "Communication, dissemination and exploitation in Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe" was hosted by Philipp Brugner. The innovation management unit of IMBG is represented by a core staff of six experts, who are responsible for topics such as project management, ethical issues, grant acquisition, and technology transfer. Three of them took part in the virtual session, who are now responsible to share the knowledge gained with their colleagues following a "train the trainers" principle.

Looking at the training's content, IMU experts were introduced in what it means to follow an inclusive CDE approach and learned how to translate the 6 theoretical and methodological principles of successful CDE in EU projects into practical activities.

The next training session (project management) for IMU staff is scheduled for May 2021.
