Should we agree on what citizen science is?

A new publication discusses published in PNAS (Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America) discusses the question of why we should agree internationally what we consider citizen science: Toward an international definition of citizen science. The article is based on a collaborative effort to define quality criteria for citizen science projects on the Austrian platform "Österreich forscht":
