FROM RECESSION TO RECOVERY: Local Partnerships to Rebuild Employment

16 - 17 February 2010

Despite the first signs of economic recovery, it may be a long time before employment returns to pre-recession levels. The 6th Annual Meeting of the OECD LEED Forum on Partnerships and Local Governance will review how local development actors are adapting to this new reality, identifying key emerging themes for action and sharing information on innovative responses on the ground. Some 200 representatives of local partnerships, government officials, social entrepreneurs, business leaders, trade unions will review the action needed to support job creation, manage change and ensure inclusiveness. Partnership practitioners will also discuss the best ways to facilitate partnership working in the new context, and review the Vienna Action Statement on Partnerships to agree on the action needed from governments and other stakeholders to ensure that local partnerships play a key role in rebuilding successful local economies.
