Measuring the Impact of EU Framework Programmes for R&I at National Level

14. Jul. 2017

Final Report of the ERAC Ad-hoc Working Group published

On 4 July the Final Report of the ERAC Ad-hoc Working Group on Measuring the Impact of EU Framework Programmes for Research and Innovation at National Level has been published.

The report proposes a template for Member States and Associated Countries to assess the impact of the participation of their national research and innovation organisations in the EU Framework programmes at national level. The report takes as its starting point that such impact has to be approached through a multidimensional level. Hence, it identifies different impact dimensions, in addition to the structure of national participation in the programmes: structuring impacts, scientific impacts, innovation impacts, economic impacts and societal impacts.

Klaus Schuch, Scientific Director of ZSI, has been delegated in his capacity as managing director of the Austrian Platform for Research and Technology Policy Evaluation in the Working Group by BMWFW. He was essentially working on the chapter of structuring impacts under the leadership of Professor Tiago Santos Pereira from the Studies and Strategy Office of the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) from Portugal.

The report can be downloaded from the webpage of the Austrian Parliament here.
