The interview explains from a scientific view the Maker movement, which is often called the third industrial revolution by bringing digital fabrication to the people's desks. MAKE-IT has conducted ten case studies in Europe to analyse the movement regarding three fundamental research questions on Organisation and Governance - How is the movement organised?, Peer and Collaborative Behaviours - How are maker communities formed and how do they interact and learn from each other? - and Value Creation and Impact - Which values and impact does the movement create?. The article summarises some of the preliminary outcomes and outlines also interesting examples of maker initiatives.
