EqUIP project has kicked off in London

Strengthening Cooperation in Social Sciences and Humanities between India & Europe

A first meeting of the core group of project partners took place on June 10, 2014, in London, UK. The project aims to provide information on opportunities of collaborative Indo-European work in SSH, and to contribute to the identification of specific thematic areas for possible future funding. Coordinated by the Economic and Social Research Council in the UK, the main Indian partner is the Indian Council for Social Science Research Society.

The platform will support agencies across Europe and India in stepping up international collaboration: through sharing best practice, networking and the closer coordination of existing collaborative activities and the establishment of new relationships. It will map existing collaborative activities with the aim of identifying barriers and challenges to effective research co-operation, as well as identify opportunities and priorities for future research collaboration.

Together with INDIGO POLICY, the EU-India STI policy support project, and INNO INDIGO, the project that will launch calls for proposals between the two regions, the new project EqUIP adds to the Indian area focus in the ZSI.
