ERA-NET RUS Plus kick-off meeting, Moscow, 27 November 2013

6. Dec. 2013

In November 2014 the ERA.Net RUS Plus Project started in which ZSI is participating as analytical project partner.

On 27 November 2013, the kick-off meeting of the ERA.Net RUS Plus project took place in Moscow. The project was launched in the frame of the opening of the EU-Russia Year of Science 2014 (http://www.eu-russia-yos.eu/). The major objective of the ERA.Net RUS Plus project is to deepen the research and innovation cooperation between EU Member States (MS), countries associated to the FP7 and Horizon 2020 (AC), and Russia. The project will implement a Single Joint Call with two funding lines: one for excellent transnational research projects in the fields of Nanotechnologies, Health, Environment, Social Sciences and Humanities, and one for innovation projects in all different thematic fields. The call will be launched in early 2014 and will herewith be a major stimulation measure for cooperation within the EU-Russia Year of Science 2014.
ERA.Net RUS Plus is a follow-up to the ERA.Net RUS action, which was implemented from 2009 to 2013. In this forerunner project, ZSI was leader of a work-package on analysis of research and innovation cooperation between the EU MS/AC and Russia, and a task leader of a foresight exercise on organisational and thematic cooperation perspectives between these partners. In the follow-up project ERA.Net RUS Plus ZSI will be responsible for a task on impact assessment of the Joint Call for research and innovation projects and of impact of the ERA.Net RUS Plus project overall.
ERA.Net RUS Plus will significantly contribute towards completing the European Research Area (ERA) by further promoting and strengthening the ERA's international cooperation dimension. It will be targeted at Russia, one of the EU's most important partner countries in scientific, economic and political terms. ERA.Net RUS Plus will be the next important step in further linking Russia and its key research communities to the European Research Area.
