Webinar on “Spreading Citizen Science in the Western Balkans”

An initiative of the WBC-RRI.NET project and its working groups

Section: Research Policy & Development

Date: 17. January 2024

Under the banner of WBC-RRI.NET, we invite to a discussion raising awareness and understanding of the possibilities of Citizen Science in the Western Balkan region. The event’s objective is to showcase the diverse benefits and applications of Citizen Science, with a focus on both environmental and social sciences. Our distinguished speakers will share valuable insights from regional and international projects, shedding light on their experiences and lessons learned. The webinar will offer a comprehensive overview of the outcomes of various Citizen Science activities, exploring methodologies applicable across various domains. The target audience for the event includes anyone interested in Citizen Science, irrespective of prior experience. With this event, we aim to start an enriching dialogue where we inform, but we also intend to create a foundation for future engagement in Citizen Science within our community.

The event starts at 14.00 and is planned for 90 minutes.

Description

The event, which is moderated by Elke Dall (Centre for Social Innovation), will include a Keynote by Claudia Fabó Cartas (European Citizen Science Association, Project Manager of ECS (European Citizen Science)) "What is Citizen Science? We invited Elena Buzan (University of Primorska) to share information about "StepChange: Transferable Experiences and Lessons Learnt" and other EU initiatives, some of which Centre for Social Innovation also participates in.
