Training on "Storytelling, legal and ethical aspects in Citizen Science"

ZSI provides fourth training for Citizen Science Initiatives in the StepChange project

Section: Technology and Knowledge

Date: 22. February 2022

Centre for Social Innovation (ZSI) is in charge of training and mutual learning activities of the StepChange project. These activities build on the preliminary work conducted together with Science for Change mapping the training needs of the Citizen Science Initiatives (CSIs) organised in the project. We then compiled a targeted training portfolio tackling the needs identified beforehand.

The training schemes are presented in a series of online workshops designed on the one hand to introduce and test different engagement methods and to offer train-the-trainer materials to be used by the CSIs while dealing with their specific target groups.

The workshops take place in an online setting end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022 and are part of a wider portfolio of actions led by ZSI to support the implementation of the CSIs while also facilitating their transdisciplinary work and mutual learning.

The first training addressed the process of citizen science and was held on November 16, the second training dealt with recruitment and retention in the citizen science process and took place on November 23. The topics of the third one related to different communication aspects.

The fourth and last training addresses storytelling, legal and ethcial aspects in citizen science projects - on February 22, 2022.
