Stefan PHILIPP is research associate and project manager at the Centre for Social Innovation (ZSI) in Vienna, Austria. He is involved in projects with a focus on international cooperation in science & technology, scientometric studies, studies on social innovation and social enterprises as well as evaluation of RTI-policies. He deploys a broad set of qualitative and quantitative methods with a focus on data driven research. Previously, he has been employed at the Austrian Platform for Research and Technology Policy Evaluation, where he gained in-depth insights in the Austrian RTI system. He has been involved in the publication of fteval’s Journal for Research and Technology Policy Evaluation and, as conference manager, organised the Open Evaluation 2016 conference. He holds a Master’s degree in spatial planning from the University of Technology Vienna. In his studies he focused on urban and regional development, European regional development policies, project and program assessment, evaluation and spatial aspects of research, development and innovation.Before joining ZSI, he worked as junior researcher at the Austrian Institute for Regional Studies and Spatial Planning (ÖIR). For his Master thesis “Research and Development in the Austrian transport sector: An empirical analysis” he received a scholarship form the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT).
