Work and research focus
Stefanie Schuerz is a researcher, project manager and coordinator at ZSI since 2020. With a background in sociology and science and technology studies from the University of Vienna, she has extensive experience in the implementation of EU-funded projects since FP8.
Stefanie’s primary focus is on evaluation and monitoring, impact (pathways) assessment, multi-stakeholder engagement and citizen science, research ethics and integrity, as well as data ethics and open science. She has coordinated processes for the co-design of R&I policy recommendations and has collaborated with funding agencies in the development and evaluation of participatory activities. Stefanie serves as Vice Chair of the ZSI Ethics Committee since 2023 and as Data Protection Office since 2024.
In addition to her work at ZSI, Stefanie also acts as a mentor to citizen science initiatives.
