Call for participants: PRO-Ethics' Final Stakeholder Workshop

16. Mär 2023

Calling on research funding organisations and citizen science experts to participate in our last stakeholder workshop

We are delighted to invite you to our online workshop to present PROEthics’ guidelines for citizen participation in R&I, taking place on Wednesday 22nd March from 11:00-13:00pm CEST.

PRO-Ethics is a consortium of research partners and R&I funding organisations across Europe to test new ethical ways to involve citizens and other non-traditional stakeholders in three fields of action: participation in innovation projects, participation in strategy development, and participation in evaluation processes. A set of practical pilot projects in these fields have taken place since 2020, to support PRO-Ethics to deliver a new ethics framework, together with a set of practical guidelines and actionable criteria for assessing the quality and ethics of participation processes. We are now at a stage where we are ready to share a first version of the guidelines with you.

During our last workshop, we will present real-life case study examples of how PRO-Ethics R&I partners tested the involvement of citizens in research and innovation, and how the PRO-Ethics’ guidelines assisted this process. We aim to draw in knowledge and insights from attending organisations who are already engaged in citizen participation and gather collective feedback from those who may just be starting to think about how to involve citizens in their work.

We would greatly value your participation in this session as a research funding organisation who the guidelines are targeted to help, or a citizen science expert who can deliver insights on best practice that can further inform our work.
