TRESCA: Coronavirus Response - Fighting Disinformation

Project contributed to #EUvsDisInfo initiative and #Factsmatter campaign!

The European Commission has been at the forefront of supporting research and innovation and coordinating European and global research efforts, including preparedness for pandemics. In addition to a number of past and ongoing research actions related to coronaviruses and outbreaks, the Commission launched several special actions in 2020. These actions address epidemiology, preparedness and response to outbreaks, the development of diagnostics, treatments and vaccines, as well as the infrastructures and resources that enable this research. The Commission and national ministries have also agreed on the first ERAvsCorona action plan which lays out 10 priority short-term coordinated actions to tackle coronavirus. The action plan is already delivering results.

Trustworthy, Reliable and Engaging Scientific Communication Approaches

In this context, the TRESCA project was highlighted prominently as one example of R&I projects fighting disinformation:
TRESCA -- ZSI is partner of the international consortium -- focuses on misinformation and digital safety, environmental health, and the automation and the future of skills and work. The project is working on developing trust in science and innovation through innovating communication practices between scientific researchers, journalists and policy makers, has also analysed basic digital sanitary practices to stop misinformation.
