2nd Call for proposals of the Austrian Science and Research Liaison Offices Ljubljana and Sofia for projects in Research Cooperation and Networking between Austria, the public higher education institutions in Kosovo and South Eastern Europe (In the framework of the "Multidimensional Project for the Implementation of an Institutionalised Partnership between Austria and Kosovo in the Field of Higher Education, Research and Innovation")

The Austrian Science and Research Liaison Offices Ljubljana/Slovenia and Sofia/Bulgaria (ASOs) coordinated by the Centre for Social Innovation (ZSI) launch a call for scientific networking and project cooperation between research institutions in Austria, the public higher education institutions in Kosovo and in South Eastern Europe with special attention to young and early stage researchers in Kosovo.

Funding is provided by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science and Research (bmwf) and the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) in the framework of the "Multidimensional Project for the Implementation of an Institutionalised Partnership between Austria and Kosovo in the Field of Higher Education, Research and Innovation" more information: http://www.aei-austria-kosovo.com. The execution of this call for proposals is supported by the K-CIRT (Kosovo Centre for International Higher Education, Research and Technology Co-operation): Kosovar partners will be advised and supported within the process of proposal writing by K-CIRT.

The funded activities shall enable scientists from Austria, the public higher institutions in Kosovo and South Eastern European countries to work together on mutually beneficial projects. The main goals are to promote networking, the exchange of research results and know-how, comparative studies and know-how exchange on European standards and practices in the chosen research and to empower young and early stage Kosovar researchers engaged at the public higher education institutions in Kosovo to work within international projects. The activities should build on already existing scientific results. Please find more information on the objectives and envisaged activities a in the call text.

The contractor has to be a research institution from Austria. Eligible participants are universities, non-university research institutions and tertiary education organisations. From Kosovo only public higher education institutions are eligible. The consortium composition must include one partner from Austria, one partner from Kosovo and at least one partner from Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, FYR of Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia.

The total funding available for this call for proposals is 180.000 Euro; a maximum of 12.000 Euro per project is envisaged.

Deadline for submission is April 10, 2009.
