Registration open until 5th of November

Bereich: Forschungspolitik & Entwicklung

Datum: 12. - 13. November 2014

Have you registered yet?...

… To the event of the year as far as EU-India collaboration in STI is concerned?
… Well to be precise, to the EU-India STI Cooperation Days 2014 that will take place in Chennai, India, on the 12th and 13th of November 2014?

If not, you can register until the 5th of November.

The event will focus on energy research, a very important area of research in EU-India cooperation. Normally in STI conferences "innovation" means technological innovation, as defined in the OECD Oslo Manual. With the focus in India on frugal innovation, we aim to expand the scope of the conference also to this area of specific interest to India.

Other than the fact that your participation in the conference will be greatly valued, you will also gain an amazing opportunity to formally and informally network with stakeholders from science, academia and industry as well as policy makers who will be present at the event. Here, you will also have an opportunity to register for the “Networking Café” where you will meet other conference participants in pre-arranged bilateral meetings to discuss your own projects, programmes or initiatives and reinforce the relationship with your actual or potential Indian or European interlocutors. Furthermore, you will also be able to gain knowledge on ongoing and future cooperation between the two regions and also be part of setting the scene for further fruitful initiatives in the field of STI.

Moreover, for the first time in the lifetime of the EU-India STI Cooperation Days, one young scientist will be crowned the “Young Scientist of 2014” after competing against other young scientists from India and Europe hand-picked by the by the partners of the NPP4 projects on energy research. The nominated young scientists are required to produce short videos clearly outlining their existing projects or project ideas. From the 27th of October 2014, these videos will be made available on the Indigo Projects Facebook page. Indigo projects’ Facebook followers will be given the opportunity to “like” the videos until the 10th of November 2014. The 2 videos from participants from Europe and the 2 videos from participants from India with the most “likes” will proceed to the finals of the competition. All young scientists involved in the competition will be invited to the EU-India STI Days 2014 (all costs covered) and only the 4 finalists will be able to present their videos in front of the EU-India STI Days audience. They will then be interviewed on their projects or project ideas especially regarding to: their innovativeness, their relevance to solving societal challenges and their contribution to advancing and promoting research cooperation between the EU and India. The audience of the conference will vote for the winner of the conference who will be awarded a fully covered conference trip to an EU Member State (for Indian participants) or India (for European participants). Please “like” our Facebook page and most importantly take part in the competition!

Participation in the conference is free of charge upon registration! Register here for the main conference as well as the "Networking Café".
