Caucasus School of Business (Georgia)
Akronym: CSB
The Caucasus School of Business (CSB) was founded in 1998 by a consortium of Georgia universities: Tbilisi State University (TSU), Georgian Technical University (GTU) and Tbilisi State Institute of Economic Relations (TSIER) in partnership with Georgia State University (Atlanta, GA, USA). In 2004 Caucasus University was founded on the basis of CSB and since then CSB is one of the schools of the University. The mission of CSB is to assist Georgia's transition from a planned to a free market economy through training of a new generation of business professionals and to provide Georgia and neighboring countries with future business leaders. Its main purpose is to offer BBA and MBA programs that satisfy international standards as well as excellence in teaching and research. Activities Education The CSB provides the Higher Professional Education: Bachelor's and Master's degree in Business Administration, Dual BBA (with J. Mack Robinson College of Business, Georgia State University, Atlanta, USA), Dual MBA (in partnership with Grenoble Graduate School of Business, Grenoble, France) and PhD (in partnership with RCB, Georgia State University, Atlanta, USA). Research The recent projects being implemented under the leadership and/or active participation of CSB are the following: • Since May 19, 2008 project “KOMNINOI- Modernization of Georgia’s legislation and training of civil servants and judges” has being implemented together with European Public Law Center. The project is funded by the Department of International Development Cooperation (Hellenic Aid) of the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs. • The Caucasian and Central Asian Economic Report - CCAER (Contract number: KK –2007/VII/2- 02) is an online publication in English language and is focused on macroeconomic developments of South Caucasian and Central Asian countries. CCAER is a part of capacity building projects within EPIN (Economic Policy Institutes’ Network) coordinated by ICEG European Center and funded by UNDP (United Nations Development Programme). • Project “Research and Development of Science, Technology and Innovation Policy – SCRIPTS” was implemented in 2007-2008 with participation of neighbor South Caucasian countries and in cooperation with EU partners: Inbis Ltd (UK), Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications and Institute of National Economy (Romania). The overall aim of the SCRIPTS project is to research and develop science, technology and innovation policy in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia by applying the socio-economic research methodology and indicators from the European Commission’s Trend Chart on Innovation.The project was funded by INTAS and Georgia National Science Foundation (Contract: 06-1000017-8811). • Project “Study on value criteria, common for Georgian population, to identify the peculiarities of introduction of organizational culture, essential for functioning market economy and development of democracy” was implemented in 2005-2006 with participation of Georgian partner organisations and in cooperation with EU institutions: AF-consultants (Sweden) and Riga International School of Economics and Business Administration (Latvia) The project was funded by INTAS (Contract: 05-1000006-8259).
