ZSI one of 27 Austrian coordinators so far in Horizon 2020

19. Feb 2015

Four ZSI projects starting in the biggest EU Research and Innovation programme ever

We have been quite active in the first rounds of calls under the Horizon 2020 programme and gathered already some experiences.

In total 8.046 proposals have been evaluated by the European Commission by October 2014 - out of which 917 had Austrian participants on board. Currently 27 projects with Austrian coordinators are negotiating the grant agreements and we are part of them. In fact, Felix Gajdusek currently prepares the kick-off as a coordinator of the project Black Sea Horizon! We are very proud to be part of the exclusive club of Austrian Horizon 2020 coordinators, as the general success rate of proposals evaluated has been approximately as low as 12%! (The success rate of Austrian coordinators was 18% though.) - (Data from ECORDA, status October 2014, kindly provided by FFG.)

ZSI - Centre for Social Innovation is currently partner in four H2020 projects that have had their kick-off in January or February 2015:

*) Black Sea Horizon: a project to support biregional STI cooperation between the EU and Black Sea Countries 2015 to 2018. It aims to stimulate bi-regional cooperation and creates supportive framework conditions. Contact person and co-ordinator: Felix Gajdusek

*) TAIPI -Tools and Actions for Impact Assessment and Policy makers Information supports the FET Flagship Initiative and the two Flagships Graphene and Human Brain Project through Imact Assessment and Policy makers Information. Contact person: Manfred Spiesberger

*) RRI-ICT Forum: Supporting & Promoting Responsible Research and Innovation in ICT research. Contact person: Claudia Magdalena Fabian

*) SeeingNano: Developing and Enabling Nanotechnology Awareness-Building. Contract person: ilse Marschalek

We are looking forward to the exciting experience of the implementation of the Horizon 2020 projects and will keep you updated about their activities, deliverables and results.
